Baby Gifts Wholesale

One of my favourite department in my shop is our baby gifts section. So much so that i still insist on assembling all personalised gift baskets myself. I like the idea of giving something special, handpicked or personalised to a new mother in celebration of her newborn baby as much as i like giving beautifully ready made gift sets prepackaged with lovely things.

Some of the beautiful ready made gift sets you see in all our outlets are available for wholesale purchase with a minimum order as small as 3 pcs only per design depending on items.

Please send me an email at sharmishahrani@gmail.com with the heading WholesaleOrder if you wish to inquire about this products . Alternatively you can also sms me at 012-2895141

Recipe : TriColor Beans and Prawn Salad

Umar was admitted to DEMC for Rotavirus recently which means I was stuck with hospital food for 3 solid days. Lucky for me DEMC offers room service since it'd be almost impossible for me to leave Umar by himself to get food . One of the salad that I ordered after much contemplation was a plate of ThreeBeans & Prawn salad. I didnt expect much from a hospital menu , especially when it comes to salads. Nonetheless , i was pleasantly surprised to find the simply prepared salad fresh , well seasoned , prawns juicy and its portion filling.

RECIPE

Very simple.
U need kidney beans ( drained ) , Chickpeas ( drained ) and Green beans ( if frozen, thaw and blanch Dont use canned beans ) , thinly sliced onions and tomatoes . Boil prawns in lightly salted water , drain .

Scatter everything over a plate of green salad ( i think butterhead works best for this recipe )
Squirt Thousand Island salad dressing all over.
Done

Told you its simple.

For mint tea , just add a bunch of fresh mint into your tea.

Baby Quilt

Last Saturday I was at studio by myself without staff ( public holiday ) . I've been wanting to turn this new quilt panels I recently bought into quilts , so since we've just received our batting , it seems like a prefect day to be quilting .

I'm using a thicker batting this time aroung , appx 230 g instead of the usual 160g. Its way more expensive , but i like the plush feel . Besides most of my customers use baby comforters to put their babies ON instead of under. Notice how the needle really 'sinks' onto the quilt panels.

I then had a tiny problem. Since I was using my industrial machine instead of my normal portable Singer ,I didnt have the proper setting for quilting . No walking foot and my feed dogs were exposed , which means that if i start machine quilting , I'll have a bunch of fiber pushed right to the end of my sewing line creating an unsightly lump. So after googling on the internet ( and a good half hour on Facebook in the process ) , I found a forum user who posted about changing industrial machines into quiltable sewing machines. And what a simple solution it is !

She suggested that I should take a piece of clear plastic and cover the entire feed dog area with it , minus a small hole for the needle to go through. Problem solved . Instead of spending money buying the accessories , this cost me nothing and the result is just as good. Plus I have the extra advantage of the sewing machine being really stable moving at super turbo speed instead of my slower portable one.

So here it is , the Buck A Roo baby Quilt. Its bigger than the normal baby quilts ( appx 49" x 39" ). I am selling it as a set with a matching pillow , since so far we only have one piece of this design at our Curve outlet. Makes an adorable gift for baby boy. Let me know if you would like to purchase this item :)

Quilting Makcik VS Bike Chick

When we set up the sewing studio last May , the space we rented was way bigger than the area we needed . So I decided to let hubs sublet half and turn it into his bike showroom . Que's been running an online business selling mountain bikes, fixed bikes and bike accessories for almost 3 years now. He bought so much cycling stuff , it was making a big mess at our porch . So he decided to sell some . And people like the stuff he bought and he sold some more. The rest is history.

So after experimenting with different orientations , we decided that its best that he takes the front half of the shop , and our sewing studio takes the back half. Since we don't rely on walk ins and he does , this arrangement made perfect sense although from the outside you cant tell that there's a dainty little sewing shop tucked behind this rugged looking xtreme bike shop. He's all black and greasy , we're all pink and pretty.

Perfect.

Yesterday we received 23 bikes from the nearby UITM bike club. They needed to be serviced , repaired and cleaned. And once they're cleaned , guess where they put the bikes while waiting for the lorry to pick them up next Thursday .

Yup , encroaching into MY sewing section , leaning against MY fabric closets are upside down bicycles. If kena my fabrics, you boys die. ok.

Needless to say , staring at upside down bicycles does absolutely nothing to spark my creative juices.
